We had a little bit of an eventful week. On Tuesday, I woke up with a really tight chest and had trouble breathing. I was a little concerned, but decided to head to work mostly because I didn't want to be home alone (Brett opened that morning.) It was hard for me to speak or move because the tightness in my chest was so uncomfortable. I made an appointment with my general practitioner because I couldn't get into my OB. My co-workers were so concerned, they thought I should go straight to the ER, but since I've never been I was a little apprehensive and didn't want to cause a big fuss. (I am likely going to end up giving birth at home because I will be in denial that I am in labor! Let's hope not!) My poor husband raced from work to take me to the doctor. All of my vitals were good and our baby was fine, but my blood test came back positive for a possible blood clot in my lungs, so my doctor ended up sending me straight to the ER anyway for more tests. They hooked me up to all sorts of monitors, did an EKG and then sent me for a CT Scan of my chest. Everything came back clear, and I was sent home. I didn't really sleep that night and felt the same in the morning, so I went back to the doctor. Still no answer, but I was so thankful we had ruled out anything serious. Their only thought was that with my growing uterus, it's pushing up on my stomach and diaphragm and causing problems. I was finally able to sleep Wednesday night and felt better Thursday and even better Friday. It's been an exhausting, worrisome week, but I am so glad to be feeling better and that our baby is okay. My hope is that this is a one time thing and the rest of my pregnancy will go smoothly.
The best part about this whole thing is we got to listen to our baby's heartbeat 3 times in 2 days, which was pretty cool. 156 beats per minute! And at our last doctor's visit, the baby was moving around a little because the heartbeat would get louder at times and then you could hear the little thunk of its kicks even though I couldn't feel it. So reassuring to both of us! I'm finally realizing that the little twitches I've been feeling in my lower abdomen, which have become more frequent in the past couple of days, is actually Baby! Amazing!

Lins, I'm glad you're ok! Are you still feeling better? Let me know, ok? Love you guys!
hey, im so glad to hear your ok. pregnancy can do some crazy things to you.... that is so cool you got to hear the baby so much.. that is so exciting. Once you start to feel it is the most increadable thing the only downside is even though you can feel it it takes so long for daddy to feel the baby kicking from the outside so its so hard to not be able to share that... i hope to see you soon cheyenne is getting so big (15 mo) i posted a few update of her on my blog http://greenfieldphoto.blogspot.com/
