9 Months Old

Jack is getting so big! At his 9 month check-up, he weighed 20 lbs 10 oz and is 28 3/4 in. long. He's getting faster and faster at crawling and follows Brett and I around the house. He loves to maneuver between the furniture and can pull himself up on almost anything now (and has learned to climb stairs!) He jibber jabbers all the time. I am convinced that he is now actually saying "Mama" and "Dada" but it's still hard to tell for sure. He mimics a lot of the sounds we make, especially when we cough or laugh. It sounds totally fake, but it's really funny. He has his two bottom teeth and is enjoying all sorts of new foods. But he has started spitting when he gets bored, which sends whatever pureed food he's eating all over! Jack sure thinks this if funny! Mealtime and clean up now take a good half an hour. He's still loving swimming and bath time and will now squeeze his eyes shut when we say "1, 2, 3."

Aside from a couple of rough days last week, Jack's been in a great mood. He'll play by himself for a little bit and then come back for a little cuddle and playtime with Mommy and then something will strike his interest and off he goes again. I've been watching my nephew, Aidan, this week, so he's been chasing his four-year-old cousin around. Jack loves it, but I'm not sure how Aidan feels!

Jack's been trying to help out with a lot of things around the house lately:

...helping Grandpa fix the sink...

...deciding what's for dinner...

...doing the laundry...

...unloading the dishwasher...

He's so helpful! Yesterday, we went to the park and Jack tried swinging for the first time. He really seemed to like it. We might have to go back soon!

We're still working on sleeping through the night, but we are making progress! And he's not a big fan of having things taken away from him, but we try to entice him with something more interesting (it doesn't always work.) Mostly, Jack is just learning a ton and enjoying so many new things. It's so much fun watching his little personality develop!
