In the past week, Jack has taken off walking! His confidence has been growing every day and he's been getting more and more steady. He rarely ever falls over anymore. And he will now try to do things while he's walking, like clapping or throwing something. Now we just need to find him some shoes that fit his thick little baby feet.
He's always trying to figure out how things work or fit together. We think he might eventually become an engineer! He's super curious about everything!
Lately, it also sounds like Jack's saying "truck" and he comments whenever he sees one-driving by our house or in the Haggen parking lot. It also sounds like he says "duck" now too (well, they sound the same, but he's always using them in the right context). He can find the duck hiding in one of his library books and points it out on each page. He loves animals and gets so excited every time he sees a dog or bird.
We've been taking swimming lessons at the gym and Jack grins from ear to ear every time we get in the pool. He squeals and shrieks and splashes the entire time. Last Thursday, he "swam" under water from the teacher to me and came up all smiles! But, his favorite part is the hot tub after class. He could stay in it all day!
Jack's been mimicking us a lot lately too. He now knows how to brush his hair and sometimes likes to brush mine. He also just started putting a phone to his ear like he's talking to somebody. It's obvious he's paying attention to what we're doing, so we're going to have to be more careful now that he's getting older with what we do and say.
One of the reasons why I haven't been super consistent about blogging lately is because Jack loves playing on the computer, so it's been hard to have a chunk of time without him wanting to help me. We've gotten some strange settings on our computer because of our little man.
By the way, Uncle Kyle, he does have clothes that fit, he just prefers not to wear them!
