We're well beyond the fourteen month mark now! Jack's been so busy and keeping his mama so busy, I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like to, but I'm okay with that. He's getting so much more independent. He's so good at walking, he's practically running, especially when it's time for a diaper change or if he has something he's not supposed to. He does so good in Kids Club at the gym and he loves hanging out with his Grandma and Grandpa. And he's as cuddly as ever, loving to sit in our laps or coming over for hugs and kisses. I hope he never outgrows that!
Jack suddenly picked up signs that we've been doing with him since he was about 6 months old. He's been doing all done for awhile, but now he's doing more, thank you, eat and bath. It's so great for Jack to actually be able to communicate a little with us. And it's very cool to see him start to understand so much more too! You can almost reason with him. Almost.
Jack's loves his Dada right now. He gets so excited every time Dada comes home. And he loves to wrestle and get tickled by his Dada on the bed. I just love hearing his shrieks and giggles. He's such a happy kid, doing lots of talking and singing and giggling. Sometimes we hear him giggling in his car seat (we still have him rear facing) and we wonder what the heck he's giggling at. He loves baseball and soccer on TV and gets so excited, he'll shriek or say "Pee-Taw" over and over which neither of us can figure out what it means, but it's adorable.
We finally got Jack a pair of shoes and his favorite thing to do right now is to take his shoes on and off. Of course, he can't do this by himself so I end up putting them on and taking them off several times a day. He has a few old pairs that don't really fit him anymore and he thinks he needs to wear those too. He gets pretty frustrated that he can't wear four shoes at the same time. Sometimes, he ends up just walking around with one show on.
Jack's becoming a little climber and loves to climb on and off the couch. He also climbs up on his little chair and stands on it. After taking a little tumble more than once, you'd think he'd learn that he shouldn't do this, but he hasn't yet. And he really likes to climb all over us, whether we're on the couch, floor or bed. Sometimes it's for cuddles, though, which I can't get enough of!
I am hoping the weather gets nicer this summer, because Jack loves being outside! He wants to go out all the time, rain or shine, morning or night. He loves to play in his sandbox and will head straight for it anytime he gets the chance. And we've been swimming at the Country Club again, which both of us have been enjoying immensely! I love my little water baby!
