Summer's End

The pool closed on Sunday. To me, this officially marks the end of summer. The change of seasons from summer to fall is my least favorite time of year. All the other seasons around here seem to easily flow from one to the next, but when fall comes, it's different. It's darker earlier and earlier in the evening. I can feel the bite in the air. It becomes too cold for shorts and flip flops. Sad. And then I start getting thinking about how much fun Jack and I had at the pool this summer, and that I will have a big THREE year old next summer! I know it will be great too, but I just need to take a moment to mourn the passing of this summer. Once we get a little bit further into the fall and the leaves start changing colors, I will remember that fall is beautiful around here too. And only 9 more months until next summer, right?
