Hurry Up and Wait

His room is ready (besides one more coat of paint on the crib), his clothes are washed, our house is clean, our bags are packed. I think we're ready. I just don't think he's going to come. Last week, we were thinking he'd be early, but my blood pressure is back down (to the lowest it's been my whole pregnancy, the doctor wanted to know our secret) and here we are a week later. I'm not planning too much right now, so I really am just sitting around doing a lot of reading and TV watching. Kind of boring.
We are really excited to meet our son and to find out what he's going to be like. We think he likes it when Daddy gives him massages. The other night, he kind of leaned into it, like a cat. Brett said, "I think he likes us!" Well, he's stuck with us, so I hope so! We also think he's a little naughty. When we went for our non-stress test last week, it took the nurse 20 minutes to chase him down because he'd move away from the monitor. And anytime we let somebody else feel him move, he stops moving. He'll move all night for Brett and I, but the minute somebody else lays a hand on my tummy, he stops. We think he's in there playing games with us.
I feel pretty much the same as always. It's amazing to think how quickly that could all change. Every twinge or different feeling makes me stop and wonder if this is it...We are hoping to be one of the 3% that actually deliver on their due date (this Friday)! It's just a waiting game right now! I am trying to relax and enjoy it since I will soon have a newborn at home with me!

Good luck Lindsay! I hope for your sake that Jack comes sooner rather than later!

Yay! He's almost here! Can hardly wait to meet him. Hey! Maybe he'll grow up and marry our granddaughter! (I think Cindy and I joked about that with Caleb and Hannah when she was born...)

Hurry up and wait is right! Waiting for the next blog bragging about the cute little guy. Have you guys made it home from the hospital yet?
