Jack has been up to so many new things even since my What's New With Jack posting. This week, he's starting reaching for things while we're holding him, directing us to take him to whatever catches his interest. Sometimes, it seems like we're wandering aimlessly around the house with him, but of course we are happy to oblige. He's started enjoying hearing himself scream and shriek happily. It's been noisy in our house lately. At times, it actually sounds like he's singing!
He's become really ticklish lately, and now loves and anticipates This Little Piggy. He also loves Patty-cake and counting his fingers. We're working on teaching him how to high-five. He's been giggling so much lately, and it's been really fun to try and make him laugh. We also feel like he's understanding us more and more. He seems to know the meaning of "look," "come here," where's...(daddy, your car, etc.)," and "no," although the last one doesn't always stop him from whatever he's doing.
Jack loves being up high. He loves playing on the couch or the bed, but really likes playing on the counter lately (with our close supervision, of course). We've started pillow fights with him, which he thinks is pretty funny. He has also learned to push buttons, setting off the car alarm a couple of times now! He's starting to play with toys as they are meant to be played with, pushing cars and trucks around and playing with his helicopter.
One of the things that concerns me the most is that Jack has just started to climb! Just this morning, he climbed up on the back of his truck and then onto the ottoman! I really love that he's learning and right on track with his development, but he is definitely all boy!
Two more quick notes: Jack had his first ear infection this week. With that, his bump on his head and a third trip with a rash I thought might have been caused by his medicine, we've been to the doctor 3 times in the past week! I'm hoping this doesn't become a regular thing! Also, Jack finally stayed the whole time in the MOPS nursery! I was so proud of him, and it was spa day, so it was so nice for me! Unfortunately, just as we were making progress, I got an email this week saying that my group can't afford to keep the nursery open. I can't help to think that this is a victory for Jack...
