Jack's personality is really coming out lately. He knows the sound of the bath running and comes crawling as fast as he can to the bathroom! If it's not his bath time, he'll hang out at the edge of the tub the whole time Daddy or I take a shower. He loves the water! He's so curious and loves to get into everything he possibly can. He's learned how to open cupboards and drawers and likes to pull everything out of them. We're still working on learning to put things back! And he loves to dance. Every time music comes on, he bounces up and down or sways his hips almost like he can't help himself. The boy has rhythm!
He thinks he needs to try whatever Daddy or I are eating or drinking and is not really interested in baby food anymore. He'd much rather feed himself! And he's quick! He'll grab for whatever is within his reach (sometimes a spoon full of food or the edge of a full glass of water) and we'll have to pry it from his Superman fingers.
His new favorite thing is to carry around two small toys in each hand. Usually it's some little plastic balls or his wooden rings. He likes to throw the balls, go get them, and then throw them again. Yes, Jack has learned how to throw! And he loves practicing with whatever he's bored with. Jack's personality is a strong one, letting us know what he doesn't like by arching his back and throwing little fits. Lately, it's been getting into his carseat, getting changed, and/or having his face or nose wiped. We are literally having to hold him down to get any of these things accomplished!
He's also learning to clap and wave. It's never on command at this point, but I love to hear him clapping happily away in his car seat. We're making progress on the waving, he just usually does it after people have already left.
Jack's also started sticking out his little tongue all the time! I don't know where it came from, but it's so cute!
I have to sign off with a very cute picture from last Saturday. It was such a warm and beautiful day, we spent a lot of time outside soaking in the sunshine. At Boulevard, a couple of guys had a tightrope up and were practicing. Jack thought he should give it a try. I just love this kid's expressions!
I feel like this should be his ten-month posting, but I couldn't wait to share all of his new things. We'll have to wait and see what the next week brings!
