Maui!

As I'm watching the snow come down outside right now, it's hard to believe that barely more than a week ago, I was sitting on the beach, building sand castles and swimming in the ocean. It has been 8 1/2 years (our honeymoon!) since we had been and, if possible, I love the island even more! Some of my favorite things: walking around barefoot everywhere, the sun, the laidback atmosphere, seeing whales every time you looked out to the ocean, the sun, hanging out by the pool, hanging out by the beach, the sun! Our trip was too short, but it was fabulous! We are so blessed to be able to go on this trip!

If you ask Jack what his favorite part of the trip was, he says the airplane! This was his first time in an airplane and he did awesome both coming and going. He was so excited! His other favorite part: seeing his cousin Elle every day! They had so much fun together!

They sand castles got pretty elaborate. I'm not sure who enjoyed building them more: Jack, Daddy or Poppie! He wasn't a huge fan of the waves or the ocean, but by the end of the trip, we were able to get him to at least stick his feet in.

We spent the majority of our time at one of the four pools in our complex. There was a pirate ship pool, a lazy river and a little wading pool attached to a pool with a waterslide (and an adult pool, which we obviously never frequented). We went to each at least once a day. And right next to the pirate ship pool was a little playground. The kids had so much fun. Jack was worn out every day!

None of us were ready to come home, especially not Jack, who kept saying, "But I don't want to leave Hawaii," and our response, "Neither do we, buddy. Neither do we." Here's hoping we will be back there sometime soon!
