Introducing Maelle Grace

We are happy to introduce the newest addition to our little family. Maelle (pronounced My-L) was born Monday, October 29th at 9:08 pm. She was 6 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. She's our little peanut. (But, since it's taken me SO long to post this, she has already gained over 2 lbs! She's a champion eater!) Both of our birth experiences have been amazing, especially once I've gotten my drugs, so I feel truly blessed. The poor girl came out sunny-side up and forehead first so my contractions were a little more intense than with Jack. And, my doctor believes that I cracked my tailbone because of her positioning as well. That apparently takes a while to recover from, as I'm learning.

Jack is thrilled to be a big brother. He absolutely adores her and cannot leave her alone. Every time she cries, he'll say, "I'm coming Baby Sister!" or "Baby Sister needs her Big Brother!"  That's mostly what he calls her. We're trying to make him realize that he needs to leave her alone when she's sleeping. So far, that's not working out too well.

We are settling in to having two kiddos. It's definitely an adjustment. We're trying to learn how to share our time and attention while making sure Jack continues to feel loved and special. (While also dealing with normal 3-year old behavior!) I'm finally starting to feel like I can leave the house with two kids. Maybe not on time, but at least we get out!

We are totally in love with our TWO children. Our hearts are overflowing!
