An eventful Memorial Day weekend

We've had such a great long weekend. It's so nice to have Brett home for three days in a row! On Friday night, my mom and dad came over and watched Jack and Brett and I had a date night! We went down and had dinner at Boundary Bay. It was so nice to get out, even if it was only for a few short hours. On Saturday, we decided to take Jack to the Ski to Sea parade. He slept through almost the whole thing until he woke up and decided he was starving and let us hear about it! We had parked by by Bellingham High School and ended up booking it to downtown Starbucks to feed him. We put Jack in the front pack and hit the Farmer's Market for some crepes for a snack. Then we thought it would be a fun idea to go walk to Boulevard Park. (I sent Brett back to bring the car closer downtown. That was a lot of walking for me. I've only been not pregnant for 5 weeks!) Jack loves the front pack and stays pretty content all nestled up close to one of us.
On Sunday, my mom and dad met us in Fairhaven and we left Jack with them while we went to the beer garden for a little bit. (Normally, we spend all day down there. It was a little different this year!) I love seeing all the friends you don't see very often down there. We met our friends, Ryan and Kiersten and walked all over with Jack to check out all the Ski to Sea festivities. It's a tradition I look forward to every year. It's going to be a lot of fun when Jack is old enough to know what's going on! Today, we walked down to Barkley Village from our house on the top of Alabama Hill. One of Jack's favorite places is Starbucks (I think that's where he's been the most)! We had coffee and lunch and then walked back home. I don't know how many miles we logged this weekend, but it's been a lot! Brett and I wanted to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and as long as Jack keeps moving, he's happy.
Tonight, Brett barbecued salmon and Jack sat contently in his bouncer while we sat at the table and ate dinner together. It was awesome! Here's to long and beautiful weekends!
